
Annie Hu
Board Member
Annie is a litigation lawyer at Borden Ladner Gervais (BLG) LLP in Toronto. Annie earned her Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2023, following the completion of her Honours Bachelor of Arts in Music, Criminology and Sociology from the University of Toronto in 2019.
Annie started playing piano and violin at the age of 4, which then led to several rewarding years with different orchestras and a lifelong commitment to the arts. In 2016, Annie played oboe with the Denis Wick Canadian Wind Orchestra. Thereafter, she spent a few years teaching music to children.
Alongside her legal career, Annie is passionate about content creation and has led digital branding strategy and social media initiatives for a number of law firms and organizations. She is also a member of the Ontario Bar Association's Entertainment, Media and Communications Law Section, reflecting her interest in the intersection of law, media, and the arts.
Annie is a committed advocate for diversity, equity and inclusion. She actively mentors both aspiring and current law students, particularly those with backgrounds in the arts. Currently, Annie also serves as a Director and Secretary on the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers' Board.
As Chair of Orchestra Toronto's Marketing Committee, Annie is excited to combine her love for music and content creation to further Orchestra Toronto's mission and amplify its presence in the community.
