Violist Kenji Fusé has been praised for his warm tone, fine musicianship and exciting performances. He holds the position of principal viola with the Victoria Symphony Orchestra, and has performed with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, the London Concert Orchestra, and the Toronto Chamber Players.

An avid chamber musician, Kenji is a member of the Avatar Ensemble, and has also performed with Jonathon Crow, Lara St. John, Erika Raum, Nikki Chooi, Jane Coop, and renowned fiddler Daniel Lapp.

Kenji is also a successful composer, his music having been performed by the Victoria Symphony, the Little Orchestra of Vancouver, the Victoria International Festival Ensemble, and the Martin Hackleman Horn Quartet. Recently, he performed his Viola Concerto with the Victoria Symphony, directed by his close friend, the rising-star young conductor Yannick Nezet-Seguin. Kenji is frequently heard on the CBC as both violist and composer.

Kenji has studied with a few of Canada's best violists, including Steven Dann, Rivka Golani and Joanna Hood, at the University of Toronto, the London Academy of Music, and the University of Victoria, respectively. He currently teaches at the Victoria Conservatory of Music, where he is a member of the string faculty.

Kenji is also a dedicated biodiesel homebrewed, raising the incorporation funds and co-founding the Island Biodiesel Co-op in 2006. In its first three years of business, it has displaced over 30,000 litres of petro-diesel, with the commensurate reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.
